Questions > Name, Email, Phone

Getting contact information is one of the most critical things in Landbot. Learn how to create Name, Email and Phone questions to make sure you can reach out back to your visitors!
  1. Name question: This is usually the first question we add to our conversation. It allows us to call visitors by their name, and who doesn't love that?

    1. First, drag and drop the green dot and type in "Name" to create this type of question.
    2. You'll see a menu where you can add text, format it, and customize the variable name where the answer will be saved (by default @name):

    3. Click Save to create the block and link it to the next one!
After asking for your visitor's name, feel free to use "@name" within the conversation to customize the experience!
  1. Email question: we all love getting emails - that's what lead gen is all about - so this is one of the most important ones

    1. First, drag and drop the green dot and type in "Email" to create this type of question.
    2. Again, you'll see a menu where you can add text, format it, and customize the variable name where the answer will be saved (by default @email), right at the bottom:

Landbot automatically validates the format of the email address entered by your users, so they better makes sure it looks like "xx@xx.xx"! If they enter anything else, Landbot will launch an error message and will ask to enter it again.

  1. Phone question: phone numbers are a great way of reaching out to your users, too! Learn how to ask for it by creating this type of block:

    1. First, drag and drop the green dot and type in "Phone" to create this type of question.
    2. You guessed right! You'll see a menu where you can add text, format it, and customize the variable name where the answer will be saved (by default @phone), right at the bottom:
