Existing WhatsApp Number Migration (Migration)

Judit Updated by Judit

There are two possible scenarios where a WhatsApp number already integrated in the WhatsApp Business API might be migrated; from a third-party BSP to Landbot or from 360Dialog to Landbot.

Before starting the migration process, there are some prerequisites and some other points to keep in mind.

Prerequisites

  1. You need to have full admin access to the Facebook Business Manager.
  2. You need to have a Verified Facebook Business Manager.
  3. You need to have access to the phone number to receive an One Time Password (OTP) code either via an SMS or through a phone call.

Points to keep in mind when migrating from 360Dialog to Landbot

  1. Template IDs might change: Clients who send Message Templates via API may have to make changes to their backend to adapt the change in template IDs.
  2. Opt-in snippet endpoint might change: Clients who are collecting opt-ins using the snippet option will have to generate a new snippet and add it to the backend of their website, form, web bot or any other way they are collecting it.
  3. Clients migrating from providers outside of Landbot must have a paid Landbot account for this process to be completed.

Migrating from third-party BSP to Landbot

In order to start the migration, please get in touch with our Support team at help@landbot.io or with your Landbot Account Manager to submit a migration number request. When writing the message, share as many details as possible along with the Facebook Business Manager ID associated with the phone number you want to migrate.

The Facebook Business Manager ID can be found at the top of the Business info section of the Business Manager.
For Smooch/Sunco clients, please send an email to engineering-support@smooch.io requesting the ID number.

Once our Support team or your Landbot Account Manager has received the proper details:

  • They will proceed with creation of a new WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) to link the phone number to.
  • Following this, you will receive a request on your Facebook Business Manager Account, which you have to approve.
  • The next step involves turning off the Double Factor Authentication (2FA). Please contact your solution provider to help you turn-off the 2FA.
  • Lastly, you will receive a 6-digit code via SMS or through a phone call. Please share the code with our Support Team or with your Landbot Account Manager.
  • Once they receive the 6-digit code they will complete the phone number migration process.
  • That's it, you are all set!
