Jonathan Goodfellow Updated by Jonathan Goodfellow

Moving a user between different types of bots in Landbot is easy! ↔️

Your users can start their chat in a traditional, rule-based bot and use the Jump To Block to move the chat to an AI Agent, or use the Exit Conditions in the AI Agent to Jump to a traditional bot! 🔗

Below, we will have a look at the methods for both operations:

Here you can use the Jump To block in the same way that you would use it to link any other bots together. The builder could look something like this:

As usual, you can select the bot you want to jump to from the list of options, in this case you will just need to select the AI Agent that you want to trigger, click the Select button:

Then click Apply Changes:

It's as simple as that! ✅

Start in an AI Agent and connect to a Rule-based Bot

Here we need to use the Exit Conditions in the AI Agent to move from the AI Agent to the Rule-based Bot. ↔️

Just follow these simple steps:

  • In the Rule-based Bot where you will be continuing the chat, add a Set a Field block before the block where you want to flow to continue. You can set the Field name and and Value as anything you like! For example:

  • Next, click the 3 dots on the Set a Field block and copy the Block ID:

  • Finally, in the AI Agent, select the bot Rule-Based Bot that we will be Jumping to in the Exit Conditions and paste the Block ID from the Set a Field block! 🧱 :

Simple! ✅ Now you know how to connect an Rule-Based Bot to an AI Agent, and vice versa! ↔️
