What is Landbot?

Landbot is a no-code chatbot platform for building AI Agents and rule-based chatbots that talk to your customers on Web, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and APIchat. You build conversations visually in the Landbot builder, without writing code.

You can build an AI Agent, a rule-based chatbot, or a single bot that combines both β€” an AI Agent handling open questions and rule-based blocks handling steps that need a fixed path.

Which channels does Landbot support?

Landbot supports four channels: Web, WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, and APIchat. AI Agent is available on all four.

● Web β€” embed a chatbot on your website as a chat widget, popup, embedded block, or full-page landing bot.

● WhatsApp β€” connect your WhatsApp number to build automated conversations, and send WhatsApp campaigns and manage your WhatsApp channel from your Landbot account.

● Facebook Messenger β€” connect a Facebook page to run automated conversations in Messenger.

● APIchat β€” connect Landbot to any other channel or custom interface through the API.

What is the difference between an AI Agent and a rule-based chatbot in Landbot?

An AI Agent answers questions in natural language using the knowledge and instructions you give it, so it can handle inputs you did not script in advance. A rule-based chatbot follows a flow you design block by block, so every path through the conversation is fixed and predictable.

You can use both in the same bot. A common setup is an AI Agent for open questions and rule-based blocks for the parts that must follow an exact sequence, such as collecting an email address or routing a conversation to an agent.
