How to get started with the Landbot Plugin

Install the Landbot Plugin in Claude Code or the Claude desktop app and sign in to Landbot the first time you use it. The easiest way is the Claude desktop app, where setup takes a couple of minutes and needs no command line.

What does the Landbot Plugin add?

The Landbot Plugin connects Claude to the Landbot MCP, with no separate setup, and adds the Landbot Skills, two skills that work together:

● Build agents (landbot-flows): creates and changes agents, sets up AI Agent blocks and publishes when you approve.

● Design the web chat (landbot-style): changes colors, fonts and layout to match a description like "make it look like our website," then checks the result on the agent's share link once the design is live.

In the Claude desktop app's Code tab, Claude also opens your agent in a browser panel next to the chat. You watch each question appear as it's built, and Claude tests every path of the conversation for you.

What do you need before you start?

● A Landbot account.

● Claude Code, or the Claude desktop app (recommended). In the desktop app, use the Code tab. Cowork runs the plugin too, without the browser panel. Landbot hasn't tested it end to end in Cowork.

The Landbot Plugin doesn't run in Claude on the web or in the Claude mobile apps. There, add the Landbot MCP as a connector instead: see How to get started with the Landbot MCP.

How to install the Landbot Plugin in the Claude desktop app

1️⃣ Open the Claude desktop app and go to the Code tab.

2️⃣ Open Customize › Plugins. If Landbot is listed in the plugin directory, select Add.

3️⃣ If it isn't listed, select Add marketplace, paste landbot-org/landbot-ai-skills and confirm. Then find landbot in the list and select Add.

4️⃣ Start a new session in the Code tab and describe your agent. The plugin loads in new sessions only.

How to install the Landbot Plugin in Claude Code

In a terminal, run claude plugin marketplace add landbot-org/landbot-ai-skills, then claude plugin install landbot@landbot-skills. Inside Claude Code you can type the same as slash commands: /plugin marketplace add landbot-org/landbot-ai-skills, then /plugin install landbot@landbot-skills. The plugin connects the Landbot MCP for you.

To update later, run claude plugin update landbot@landbot-skills.

How to use the Landbot Skills in Codex or Cursor

Codex and Cursor get the two skills from the plugin's repository and connect the Landbot MCP separately:

● Codex: run codex plugin marketplace add landbot-org/landbot-ai-skills, then codex plugin add landbot@landbot-skills, then connect the Landbot MCP with codex mcp add landbot --url https://mcp.landbot.io/mcp && codex mcp login landbot. On a Codex version without plugins, copy the skills instead: git clone https://github.com/landbot-org/landbot-ai-skills && landbot-ai-skills/scripts/install.sh codex, then the same codex mcp add line. To update later, run codex plugin marketplace upgrade, or the install command again.

● Cursor: from your project folder, run git clone https://github.com/landbot-org/landbot-ai-skills && landbot-ai-skills/scripts/install.sh cursor (add --global to install for every project). Then add https://mcp.landbot.io/mcp as a remote MCP server in Cursor's MCP settings. To update later, run the install command again.

How to sign in to Landbot from the Landbot Plugin

The Landbot Plugin signs in to Landbot through your browser. There is no API token to copy.

1️⃣ In Claude Code or the Claude desktop app, start a new session and describe the agent you want.

2️⃣ The first time the Landbot Plugin connects, your browser opens Landbot's sign-in. Sign in to your Landbot account.

3️⃣ Approve access. The Landbot Plugin asks to read, create, edit and publish your agents, read, create and edit their AI agents, read your connected accounts and the spreadsheets they reach, ask for another account to be connected, and read and change how your web chats look.

To sign out or switch Landbot accounts in Claude Code, type /mcp and manage the Landbot connection there.
The Landbot Plugin shows its version the first time it runs in a session, for example "landbot-flows 0.6.1." An older number means an earlier copy is still installed. Remove it so only one copy is left.
