File question

Do you want your candidates to submit their CV? Maybe you need an official document to complete the signup process? File questions are here to help!

  1. First, drag and drop the green dot and type in "File" to create this type of question.
  2. You'll see a menu where you can add text, format it, and customize the variable name where the answer will be saved (by default @file):

  1. The users have to click on Select a file and they'll be able to select any file from their computer, or they can just drag and drop the file.
  2. Landbot will generate a link in our servers where you can access this file. You can find it in the Chats section or in the Analyze > Users section of your account.
WARNING: Once you delete the conversation with a user in your Landbot account, the files will be automatically deleted from our servers too!

This is IRREVERSIBLE, we can't recover any of the data once it is deleted.

So we recommend you download the files and save them in your local storage before deleting any conversation containing files.

Depending on your pricing plan, you'll have different storage limits for each file your users upload. Check our Fair Use Policy for more information about these limitations.

Multiple files upload

Do you need to let your users upload more than one file at a time?🗂

Not a problem! Now you can enable this option within the block's configuration and allow users to upload multiple files 🙌

Note: It's possible to upload up to 6 files at once, and each file has a size limit of 10MB!

Users can upload files altogether, or even by groups until they reach the limit of 6 files.

When the Multiple files upload option is enabled, the user's answer will be saved in Array format, containing links to access the file for each uploaded file by the user.

All system messages can be customized from the Settings section > Custom System Messages > Help texts:

Note: The Multiple files upload option is only for Web bots, and only for Landbot 3.

For WhatsApp

This block behaves the same way as in the Landbot (web) version but the user needs to use the native upload functionality of WhatsApp to select and upload the file.

Warning: Multiple files upload option is not available in WhatsApp bots.

For Facebook Messenger

This block behaves the same way as in the Landbot (web) version but the user needs to use the native upload functionality of the Messenger app to select and upload the file.

Warning: Messenger bots do not accept PDF files at the moment. It does not show the PDF.

Also, it is not possible to add multiple files at the same time, or the messages will be duplicated.
