IMPORTANT: What to Take Into Account Before Creating the Landbot and Zapier Integration

  1. The very first thing you need to do is make sure you have a Zapier account. If not, you can create one for free.
Once you have that sorted out, we recommend you log in in a different tab; it will make the whole integration process easier.
  2. The second thing you should do before setting up the integration is decide all the information you want to collect in your chatbot and the data you want to transfer to Zapier. Based on that, you can build the flow of your chatbot with the blocks you need accordingly.
  3. At this point, it might seem obvious, but in order to transfer the data from your chatbot to Zapier, you need to generate sample data. This means that when you finish building your bot, you need to publish it (top right of the screen) and interact with it by using the ‘Share URL’ option from your chatbot from the ‘Share’ section (see image below).  Open the URL and run the bot, answering all its questions, and providing the required details.

If possible, do it from different browsers and provide different dates. The more sample data you have, the better and the easier the integration will be.
Learn How to Configure the Landbot and Zapier Integration
  1. As we previously mentioned, the first step is creating your bot and adding the blocks that will allow you to achieve your goals (lead generation, customer support, lead qualification
, etc.).
Once you have it, we will need to add also an Integrations - Zapier type block:

  2. Once you have that set, save your chatbot by clicking on the top-right button. To make sure Zapier recognizes every field and piece of information it receives from our bot, as mentioned, we recommend you interact with your chatbot and complete a conversation. Our answers will be taken as an example to test the connection.
  3. Let’s move back to our Zapier account and click on ‘Create’ - ‘Zap’:

  1. Now, select ‘Landbot’ as the trigger app by typing it in the search box:

  2. Once you have selected ‘Landbot’ from the Apps list, you need to choose the ‘Trigger event’, in this case ‘Zapier Block Activated’, and the Landbot Account you want to connect (if it’s the first time you’re managing a Zapier-Landbot integration).

  3. To do so, you will see that a new window pops up where you are asked for the ‘Landbot Token’:

    1. To get the ‘Landbot Token’, you need to go back to your Landbot chatbot, open the Zapier Integration block, and copy the Landbot token you will find there:

If you are struggling to get your Landbot Token, read this article to know more about the process.
    2. If you've already created other zaps with Landbot, you just need to select your account from the list and click Save and Continue.
  4. Now, choose the Bot - from those in your account - you want to integrate, and the blocks from the chatbot you’d like to take into account. In this example, we selected ‘All Zapier blocks’. In some case,s you might have several Zapier blocks and maybe you just want to select specific blocks.

  1. Once you have set your trigger, it’s time to test it to make sure your Landbot account and the Zapier integration block are correctly connected. To do so, you just need to click on ‘Test trigger’:

What To Do If Something Goes Wrong:

If after testing the integration you get an error message, make sure you have picked the correct Landbot account, and that the chatbot you picked has a proper Zapier Integration block in it.

If the test is successful, you will see the following screen:

  1. Your trigger is already configured, your Landbot chatbot is already integrated with Zapier, and now all you have to do is configure the action:

Search within +1,000 apps on the right side of the screen to trigger millions of actions (send automated emails, receive Slack notifications, add contacts to a MailChimp list, close a PipeDrive deal, update Salesforce entries...).
