For Landbot (Web)

Number question: learn how to ask for numbers and customize their range and format!

  • First, drag and drop the green dot and type in "Number" to create this type of question.
  • You'll see a menu where you can add text, format it, and customize the variable name where the answer will be saved (by default @number), right at the bottom:

Settings

You can enable the toggle Settings to customize the input you expect from your visitors:

  1. By clicking on Format you can decide whether you want to capture whole numbers or Decimals. The option Auto will adapt the format depending on the user's input.

  1. You can also add a minimum and/or a maximum value to make sure you keep answers within a given range (if any of those is exceeded, the interface will show a warning text)
  2. Add a prefix so your visitors have more info on what are they exactly replying to (e.g. €, lb, etc.).

Warning: Users won't be able to enter any other character except for numbers, so keep that in mind!

For WhatsApp

The Advanced options are partially compatible with WhatsApp bots. It's only compatible with the Format option.

Tip: You can workaround the maximum and minimum value options with the Conditions block. Just place a Conditions block after the Question: Number block and set a condition based on your user's input! A setup like this works well:

It is possible to edit the Question Validation error in the block itself, by enabling this option in Settings > Custom Responses > Error Messages. You just have to enable the option Make each question validation error customizable.

For Facebook Messenger

The Advanced options are partially compatible with Messenger bots. It's only compatible with the Format option.

Tip: You can workaround the maximum and minimum value options with the Conditions block, as shown in the WhatsApp example above!
