How to split bot traffic with the A/B Test block

The A/B Test block splits your bot's visitors into different paths, letting you compare which one performs better or randomize which message a visitor sees. Use it to test messaging or flow variations against each other, or to distribute visitors across paths without controlling which one each person gets.

How to add an A/B Test block to your flow

The A/B Test block sits in the Flow Operations category of the block menu.

  1. Click A/B Test to open the block editor on the left, then set the percentage of traffic you want to send through each path.

  1. Connect each percentage of traffic -> path A and path B -> to a different block.

A 50/50 split randomizes each chat with a 50% probability, it does not guarantee an even split. With a small number of chats, the actual split can land noticeably off 50/50. With a larger number of chats, it converges closer to 50/50.

The Flow Analytics section shows metrics for each path created by an A/B Test block, so you can compare how each one performs.

Go to Analyze > Flow Analytics in your bot to see these metrics.
